Prakash Jha's 然ajneeti' to hit screenTags: MP , Bhopal , Bollywood , Vivek Oberoi and Manoj Vajpayee , Arjun Rampal , Katrina Kaif , Ajay Devgan , Nana Patekar , Rajneeti , Prakash Jha Bhopal, Feb 3: Noted film Director Prakash Jha is now-a-days busy with the shooting of his new venture 然ajneeti' which is currently under progress in Bhopal.
Prakash has received the clearance of Bhopal Municipal Corporation for the shooting of his upcoming film 'Rajneeti' at 28 locations around the city. Bhopal Municipal Corporation and the district administration have given a go-ahead to Jha's project, which is scheduled to start from January 28 and would last till the end of March. The main set of the film is being built in Kotra Sultanabad (Naya Basera) area in the lake city. Other locations include Iqbal Maidan, Motiya Talab, Kaliasot dam temple and Bhadbhada Bridge near the Judicial Academy. The movie stars Nana Patekar along with Ajay Devgan, Katrina Kaif, Arjun Rampal, Vivek Oberoi and Manoj Vajpayee. Ajay Devgan is determined not to copy Haji Mastan when he plays the smuggler-turned-film producer in Milan Luthria's Once Upon A Time in Mumbai. "The character will be inspired by Haji Mastan, but I won't be copying him. We'll take many cinematic liberties. When I played Mahesh Bhatt in Zakhm, I wasn't trying to walk and talk like him," said Ajay. Haji Mastan forayed into Bollywood with 閃ere Garib Nawaz' (1973) and was also a successful distributor. Known for his friendship with the legendary actor Dilip Kumar, Mastan took to politics later. He died in 1994. Amitabh Bachchan's character in the 1975 super hit film Deewaar was modelled on Haji Mastan and now it's Ajay's turn to bring him alive on screen once again. For his role, Ajay will be consulting all the material on the notorious smuggler and also plans to meet up with the Big B to learn how the senior actor approached the complex part. From playing Bhagat Singh to now Haji Mastan is a long journey for Ajay. "But playing Haji Mastan is very different from playing Bhagat Singh," he quipped. Once Upon A Time in Mumbai will also focus on an aspect of Mastan's life that Deewaar didn't touch on - the smuggler's liaison with starlet Sona, who apparently bore a close resemblance to the legendary Madhubala. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Share it
