She is all set for the big day of her life- the day she will tie her wedding knot. Aspiring grooms have to register themselves with the show. After selecting 15 grooms of her choice, Rakhi will stay with them under one roof. During this time, Rakhi will giver her prospective grooms various tasks to perform. The ones who fail will face elimination every week. And finally, Rakhi will marry a groom of her choice. Diksha P Gupta spoke exclusively to Rakhi Sawant about her D-day. Excerpts.


How are you taking the reactions about your swayamvar?

Most of the people like the idea. For those who do not like it, I don't care.

How did the idea come to you?

I do things differently. Marrying through a reality show doesn't mean I am not serious about it. I am looking for a companion with whom I can share my love, joys, sorrows and success. I have chosen a national television to be the medium because this platform has made me what I am today. I want my marriage to be solemnized in the presence of all my fans who have been supportive of me in all my thick and thins. What can be a better medium than a national television channel!

What qualities will you be looking for in your life partner?

He has to be a unique combination of mind and heart. I am looking for a complete package. He should be smart as Shah Rukh, should have a physique like Salman and attitude like Aamir Khan. He should be understanding, honest, loving and straight forward as I am. And yes, he has to love his family first, then only can he love me.

What all preparations have you made for your D-day?

I want to look stunning on my wedding day. I have lost about 10 kilos of weight for my wedding. I am working on my outfit and look extensively. It will be a surprise for all.

The world is looking upto you for this novel idea, are you confident that you will make the right choice this way?

Yes. I am sure I will get the right man. I am a self-made individual. I have taken all my decisions myself till now. I have been successful because of my choices in life. Rest, I have left to God.
