Jharkhand Party faction calls 48-hour bandh





Bankura (WB), Nov 24: A faction of the Jharkhand Party, led by Aditya Kisku, called a 48-hour bandh in three Adivasi-inhabited districts of West Bengal in support for the ongoing tribal agitation in Lalgarh of West Midnapore.

The bandh would be observed in Bankura, Purulia and West Midnapore districts on 28 and 29 November, Aditya Kisku told in a press meet at Khatra in Bankura district.

"The state government is playing game with the innocent tribals which could not be tolerating further," he said.

Meanwhile, barricades have been raised on major roads at Tanudanga, Khayerpahari and Sarulia and other parts of Sarenga in Bankura district since November 19.

State Highway-4 (Goaltore-Bankura)and State Highway-8 (Jhargram-Bankura) have remained blocked for the past five days.
