Melbourne: I yet another incident of racial assault against Indian, an Indian student sustained severe injuries as he was attacked here today. The critically wounded student has been admitted to a hospital.

The victim is a resident of Hyderabad. He was assaulted by a group of people in the city.

This is the sixteenth incident of the attack against the Indian students.

It is worth mentioning here that Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd had assured his Indian counterpart that racial attacks on Indians in Australia would be "strongly dealt with".

Rudd had condemned and deplored the attacks and said “it is unacceptable.” He emphasised that Australia is a multi-cultural nation which respects and embraces diversity.
