'The Oprah Winfrey Show' to end in 2011

Chicago: TV mogul Oprah Winfrey is all set to bring the curtains down on her iconic daytime talk show 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' in 2011, ending its 25-years run on air.

Winfrey, 55, is expected to announce the final date for the end of 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' during a live broadcast today, according to her production house Harpo Productions Inc.

It is widely expected that Winfrey, one of the most influential figures in the US, will launch her cable network - OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network- in partnership with Discovery Networks after ending the show on CBS television.

Winfrey's network was scheduled to debut this year but is now delayed and is expected to see the light of the day in 2010.

The 24th season of the talk show was kicked off by Winfrey at up-scale Michigan Avenue here, drawing thousands of fans to catch a glimpse of the media icon as well as her guests - pop band Blackeyed Peas, singer Jennifer Hudson and magician Criss Angel.

Winfrey's show has aired in 145 countries across the world besides being one of the TV industry's biggest money-spinners and the top-rated US daytime talk show for close to two decades.
