Supporters of HuJI 'commander' arrested





Jammu: Security forces have arrested five alleged supporters of Harkat-ul-Jehad Islami (HuJI ) terrorist group for harbouring its wanted "commander" and providing him with SIM cards and information on troop movement in Kishtwar district.

Over ground workers (OGWs) Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, Mohi-Uddin Shah, Rostam Alsi Chopan, Tanveer Hussain Bhavani and Mohammad Imran Bhat were arrested during a joint operation by police, CRPF and army in Sigdi, Mulchetir and Bhatta area of the hilly district in the last two days, a spokesman said.

They were accused of extending support to elusive HuJI "commander" Mohammad Amin alias Rahi by providing him shelter, eatables, SIM cards and information regarding movement of troops.

Amin was involved in several militancy related cases.

On September 13, his group had allegedly killed Ghulam Mohammad Chopan in Batta village of Chatroo tehsil in the district, over 200 kms from here, in the presence of his minor children.
