Lucknow: Seven persons including two women were killed and another was killed when they got buried under sand in Bijnore district, police sources said here today.

The incident took place in Mendubal village in Nazibabad police circle when some labourers were digging sand which caved in on the bank of river Ratnal, killing seven of them on the spot.

Those killed were identified as Meena, Rupkishore, Negpal, Ram Kishen, Gyan Singh and Somwati, they said adding the injured was rushed to the district hospital, where his condition was stated to be stable.
