Noida: Thousands of rickshaw pullers today staged demonstration against the ban on plying on six major roads in Noida.

Noida Rickshaw Chalak Vikas Samiti patron and social worker Ashok Chauhan termed the ban, which is effective from October 1, unpractical, saying that from going one sector to another one has to cross one of these banned roads.

Police and the authority encroachment team seized over 2000 rickshaws so far. Samiti alleged that department destroyed rickshaws causing financial loss to poor people.

The Samiti also gave a memorandum in this regard to Noida DCEO C B Singh who assured them to review the ban decision.
