Mumbai: A promise is a promise and keeping his promise, Ratan Tata's dream car Tata Nano is all set to reach the common man today.

Recapturing from all political and recession hindrances, Ratan Tata will finally deliver the first keys of the Tata Nano to its first owner here today.

However, the first owner of the Ratan Tata's dream car is yet to be identified.

Tata Motors had planned to manufacture a common man car in 2003 and launched it 2008 and finally in 2009 it will be handed over to a common man. During its journey from plant to roads, the project witnessed several obstacles. The controversy over the land acquisition forced Ratan Tata to abandon Singur and shift the Nano's production to Gujarat.

Tata Motors selected one lakh customers out of the 2.06 lakh applicants through a lottery. The first one lakh will be sold at the announcement price of Rs 1 lakh. The world's cheapest four-wheeler car is all set for road performance.
