Rain, drizzle bring mercury down in Rajasthan

Jaipur: Intermittent rains accompanied with hailstorms in parts of Rajasthan since early this morning brought mercury down by a few notches.

Drizzle to light rain occurred in north-western areas of the state causing mercury to plummet by one to four degrees Celsius during the day hours, state Met director S S Singh told here.

A western disturbance originated from Pakistan was currently passing over Rajasthan and adjoining states, which caused rain and hailstorm, he said.

Mount Abu recorded a minimum temperature of 8 deg C, while Sriganganagar settled at a low of 13 degree C.

The capital Jaipur also received intermittent drizzle amid cloudy weather. Jaipur recorded a minimum of 17 deg C last night.
