Rahul will work for strengthening the party, says PMNew Delhi: Setting aside the speculations of Rahul Gandhi joining the cabinet, PM Manmohan Singh said that the youth icon is not keen on becoming minister. He would work for strengthening the party.
PM spoke to the press after he sworn-in for the second successive term on Friday. Addressing the media persons PM said, ‘Rahul Gandhi has so far not agreed to join government but I have not given up hope. He wants to work for strengthening of the party.' Party President Sonia Gandhi has also cleared that strengthening the party is Rahul's priority. It is worth mentioning here that a demand for Rahul Gandhi to join cabinet was raised from all corners after UPA's clean sweep in LS Polls 2009.
