Punish all involved behind Mumbai attacks, says ChidambaramNew Delhi: Home Minister P Chidambaram on Thursday said that Pakistan is dragging its feet in taking action against 26/11 masterminds, reacting strongly to Pakistan's lone admission to Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi being behind the 26/11 attacks.
Chidambaram's statement can be clearly judged as a hint to Pak's flip-flop on Hafiz Saeed, who has been continuously termed by India as the mastermind of the deadly attacks along with others. Expressing his dissatisfaction, the Home Minister today said that Pak's continuous failure of booking the real culprits indicates that Pakistan is not at all serious in booking all those responsible for the bloodbath. There are other architects of 26/11 as well, other than Lakhvi, and Pakistan should drag them to justice, Chidambaram, further said. Chidambaram is also likely to visit Islamabad from February 20-22 to attend the SAARC Home Ministers' conference. He is expected to raise the issue with other ministers. On Wednesday, Pakistan investigators had said all the seven terrorists arrested in Pakistan for their involvement in the Mumbai attacks belonged to LeT and there is sufficient incriminating evidence against them. Pakistani investigators, in a report to an anti-terrorism court, also corroborated the statement made by Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone gunman arrested in Mumbai. The report presented to the court conducting the trial of seven accused, including LeT operations commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi states that there is "sufficient incriminating evidence on record against those arrested for orchestrating the Mumbai attacks." The report further said that evidence collected by Pakistani investigators had corroborated the statement made by Ajmal Amir Kasab. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Share it
