A day after the shocking expose of a teenager performing a cesarean operation as his doctor parents looked on; a probe has been ordered by the District Collector into the alleged surgery at a hospital in Manapparai near here.

Tiruchirapalli Collector Ashish Vachhani ordered a probe into the incident by a Revenue Divisional Officer, who would be assisted by the Deputy Director of Health Services and the Joint Director of Medical Services.

The inquiry report is expected to be submitted at the earliest. Based on the report, suitable action would be taken, the Collector said.

Fifteen-year-old Dhileepan Raj allegedly performed the surgery as his doctor parents watched.

Meanwhile, the father of the boy, Dr Murugesan in an interview denied any such charges against him and his son. "I performed the surgery and my son was allowed only to watch it. Reports about the surgery being done by my son in an attempt to set a record is not true."

He said "some evil elements, who are jealous of me are creating this problem to me. It is all created by somebody. I do not want to mention the names." Dr. Murugesan also denied having shown any such CD at a doctors meeting.

"My son was only watching and he did not have any surgical instrument during the operation. At the IMA meeting the video of the surgery done by me was shown to the doctors present." However, a senior IMA official told reporters that the CD of the boy performing the surgery was shown at the meeting.

"But, it now seems that the doctor is trying to prove that there was no such CD or that the data is lost," he said.
