Mumbai, Dec 2: President Pratibha Patil reviewed the situation in Maharashtra in the aftermath of Mumbai terror attacks at a meeting with state Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and top police officials.

Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Chitkala Zutshi was also present at the meeting, which took place at Raj Bhavan, its spokesperson said.

Declining to divulge details, the spokesperson said the meeting lasted for about an hour and the President was briefed by Deshmukh and top home officials on the measures taken by the state to combat terror.

Earlier, President had a separate meeting with Governor S C Jamir to discuss the situation in the wake of terror attacks.

The President is scheduled to leave for Delhi after meeting family members of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) Chief Hemant Karkare and senior ATS official Vijay Salaskar, who were killed in the terror attack.
