No party is untouchable: SPGhaziabad (UP): The Samajwadi Party has said that no party was "untouchable" because of the likely fractured verdict in the Lok Sabha elections but asserted there was "very little chance" of it supporting the NDA.
Addressing a rally at Gark Mukteshwar here, SP leader Amar Singh echoed party chief Mulayam Singh's view that the party will support the alliance at the Centre which will help topple the Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh. "Samajwadi Party saved the country on July 22, 2008 when Congress-led UPA won the confidence motion in Parliament with SP's support otherwise the country would have faced a troublesome situation," he said. The SP leader said "no one is untouchable in politics because the hung parliament situation seems here to stay. Unfortunately, people have lost faith in national parties and this why the regional parties have come up to support and form the government at the centre". He, however, said there "was very little chance of SP supporting PM-in-waiting L K Advani". Singh also supported the view that the prime minister should be from Lok Sabha instead of Rajya Sabha. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Share it
