No Jackson memorial at NeverlandLos Angeles: The US Drug Enforcement Administration today joined the investigation into Michael Jackson's sudden death amid rumours of possible abuse of prescription drugs even as pop star's family ruled out Neverland as the venue of his memorial service.
The role of the DEA is not clear at this point of time but reports claim that it will assist the coroner's office and Los Angeles Police Department in the probe. The officials would look at various doctors, who worked for Jackson, their practices and their possible sources of medicine supply. But a DEA spokeswoman declined to comment on the administration's involvement in Jackson's death investigation. "We routinely offer assistance to any agency regarding the Federal Controlled Substance Act. However, at this time, we have nothing further to comment about the death of Michael Jackson," DEA's Sarah Pullen was quoted as saying by media. Jackson's drug dependency has been confirmed by former aides including his children's nanny, nurse and manager. Cherilyn Lee, a registered nurse who worked for pop star just three months before his dead, said that Jackson begged for the medicines despite knowing the side-effects as he struggled to sleep. Meanwhile, the family has ruled out Neverland ranch as the possible venue of his public memorial but assured fans that they will get the chance to say their final goodbye to 'King of Pop' even as reports suggest that the memorial may take place on July 7 in Los Angeles Staples Centre. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Share it
