Panaji: The mythological characters and Goa's folklore descended on Panaji's street on March 14 as state celebrated the float parade to commemorate traditional Shigmo festival.

Bollywood actor Nana Patekar was present as the chief guest for the float parade.

Shigmo, the festival to welcome the spring, is celebrated across Goa's villages and suburbs.

For last 20 years, the state is hosting various activities to present these folklores to the urban population.

Shigmo, which is the festival of colour, corresponding to Holi in the rest of India, is celebrated in Goa during the month of Falguna in the Hindu calendar.
