Meerut: Sensation prevailed in the town after news of son of a businessman spread here. Kidnappers reportedly demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore for safe release of the boy. However, police denied considering it as a case of kidnapping.

Reports said that Akshay son of prominent cloth merchant Yogesh Bansal is a student of class X. He went for coaching classes on Friday evening but didn't turn up till late night. Thereafter his family members informed the police.

An MLA close to Bansal family disclosed that the kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore for safe release of the boy. However, the family member and police are not considering it a case of abduction.
