Mumbai is for all Indians: VHP

Guwahati: The VHP today opposed Shiv Sena's 'anti-North Indian' campaign but supported the Bal Thackeray's party for slamming actor Shah Rukh Khan for his comment that Pakistani cricketers should have been taken in the IPL.

"Mumbai is for all Indians and we do not support Shiv Sena's anti-North Indian stand," senior VHP leader Pravin Togadia told reporters here.

However, he expressed support to Shiv Sena's opposition to Shah Rukh Khan's latest film 'My name is Khan' over the actor's remark on Pakistani players, though the Sena had already made it clear that the screening of the film would not be thwarted.

Referring to Assam, Togadia demanded immediate upgradation of the National Register of Citizen (NRC) saying the cut-off year should be 1951 instead of 1971 as desired by the Assam's Congress government.
