Mock drill at Lucknow airport

Lucknow, Dec 18: The news of hijacking of an aeroplane by the Air Traffic Control (ATC) at Amausi airport to the Director General of Police office sent police officers in a tizzy here.

The news was given to the DG control room at around 3.34 pm by ATC as a mock drill to check response time of the police and ATS team, Additional Director General, Law and Order Brijlal told reporters here.

He said that as soon as the news was flashed commandos of ATS and district police surrounded the area and senior officials including Principal Secretary Home, Kunwar Fateh Bahadur Singh, Director General of Police (DPG) Vikram Singh reached the airport to supervise the "operation".

Brijlal said the response time during the mock drill was good and there was no laxity on part of anyone.
