Mumbai: Canada born Indian actress Lisa Ray recently revealed about her illness on her blog The Yellow Diaries. This sizzling actress is suffering from rare type of bone marrow cancer ‘Multiple Myeloma'. It is a rare and incurable cancer of white blood cells.

This 37-year-old actor has refused to give in to this deadly disease. She has accepted the news of been diagnosed with cancer on June 23 with calm and poise. One her blog she wrote, “For me, it was a relief to hear what was wrong. The plasma cells in my bone marrow were rampaging, multiplying, squeezing out the red blood cells and it was time to begin doing something about it. You just know when something is kosher with your body. When I got the news, I didn't react and didn't cry. I am an actress, believe me, I can be dramatic.”

Lisa Ray has already completed the first round of treatment and is currently in Toronto to attend the 10 day Film Festival. The actress has managed to keep herself optimistic despite the tragic news.

Her co-stars, people she has known and her fans are under shock to hear about this beautiful actress's ailment.
