‘Kaminey' movie review: Experience ‘hatke'Star cast: Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Amole Gupte, Tenzing Nima and Chandan Roy Sanyal.
Director: Vishal Bhardwaj Stars: *** Vishal Bhardwaj's new venture 'Kaminey' starring Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra is all set to hit the theatres on August 14 sans Mumbai. Vishal Bhardwaj has successfully executed the story line of 'Kaminey' which makes it different from others we have witnessed so far. After Farah Khan's 'Om Shanti Om', Vishal pays homage to yesteryears Hindi Cinema that's reason enough to go out and grab tickets for one of the most keenly awaited movie of 21st century. Bhardwaj has selected the characters of the movie that we have witnessed on the Silver Screens several times but the presentation of characters in 'Kaminey' makes it different and interesting one. When we talk about Kaminey, it is bold, stark, funny and unpredictable, which is the success mantra of movie. Apart from this, the hit number 'Dhan Te Nan' and Shahid Kapoor's superb acting makes it exceptional. It's true, Shahid has proved his metal in the past but 'Kaminey' will take him to highest level. Shahid Kapoor's has played double role in Kaminey and he looks awesome. The background music of popular song 'Dhan Te Nan' will allow your heart to beat faster every time you hear it. 'Kaminey' is not about masala film. Actually it is a well thought and beautifully implemented movie. While watching the movie, you have to be attentive. You have to be aware of every goings-on and also the twists in the end. The story revolves around a pair of twin brothers-- Charlie and Guddu (Shahid Kapoor). The title 'Kaminey' takes time to justify itself. After twenty minutes into the film and things start falling in place. From thereon, you're drawn into a different world completely. The interval raises the bar and also the expectations. The story takes a dramatic turn at this juncture, but minutes before that, 'Dhan Te Nan' makes the proceedings exhilarating and stimulating. But the best part of the movie begins after the interval to the finale. Vishal Bhardwaj has placed all themes so perfectly. The direction of Vishal Bhardwaj once again proves that he is a master storyteller. Shahid really takes a big jump towards stardom with ‘Kaminey'. Priyanka is impressive again after 'Fashion'. She plays the Maharashtrian woman role perfectly. Her accent is also perfect. Amole Gupte is outstanding. Tenzing Nima and Chandan Roy Sanyal leave a solid impression. If you wanna to experience some different stuff, you must book the tickets in advance.
