Jamshedpur, Sep 1 The 42nd Mohan Memorial Badminton tournament for the Jharkhand state championship will commence at Mohan Ahuja indoor stadium here from tomorrow.

Altogether 325 shuttlers including 50 girls from 17 affiliated district associations of Jharkhand will be seen vying for top honour in the championship, said K Prabhakar Rao,secretary of Jharkhand Badminton Association (JBA) today.

The significance of the championship was that the 18-member state team for under-19 boys and girls and senior men and women will be selected based on their performance, he said.

The state team that would be picked up here will participate in the inter-state championship to be held in Nainital from September 9 to 12, Rao added.
