Operation still on to trace Andhra CM: GovtHyderabad: Mystery still persisted over the whereabouts of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, whose helicopter went missing at 10.30 a.m. amid bad weather.
Earlier, some of the reports have claimed that the Chief Minister's helicopter has made emergency landing near remote area of Kurnool. But the latest development has said that CM's chopper has not been cited yet. According to the AP government, neither contact established with the CM YSR nor his helicopter has been cited yet. Finance Minister K Rosaiah has urged the people and media to keep away from spreading panic. He said that search is very much still on and bad weather hampering the search operation. The minister said that the search operation is on in six districts of AP. The search operation has been affected due to inclement weather and dense forest area. "Our appeal to the people living in rural area and forest area to contact nearby forest officials and revenue officials if they have any signal about the chopper and the Chief minister." He also urged the people to share information regarding Chief Minister's whereabouts with security officials. Earlier, the conflicting reports had claimed that the CM's chopper made emergency landing near remote area of Kurnool district. However, the Begumpet Airport officials said that the government chopper lost contact with air traffic control around 9.35 am. The chief minister was supposed to land at Chittoor district at 10.30 a.m. when his helicopter lost contact with air traffic control. There is bad weather in the area.
