Johannesburg: It would be a glittering affair at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg when music legend Eddy Grant and American star Akon will perform live at the closing ceremony of the high profile IPL-2 series.

As the 20Twenty format of the cricket ends today after five weeks of entertaining matches, it will be a grand Finale of the mega event, which has given new meaning to the world of cricket in terms of money and glamour.

It was a sole little glamour in this IPL as the Cheerleaders avoided the scanty clothes while cheering for their respective teams. The inaugural IP India had drawan flaks from several outfits, claiming it was against the culture and tradition of India, the second IPL followed the suit and this the Cheerleaders were wrapped in proper clothes.

This year IP had been a unexpected one with the last year winner Rajasthan Royals and this year favorite Chennai Super Kings hitting the bottom. Deccan Chargers and Royal Challengers emerged as the top teams setting a clash at New Wanderers in Johannesburg.

South Africa have had also a good stint with the IPL- 2 as money and fame came easily throrgh IPL. South Africa would sure not leave any opportunity to host the event again.

It is known that the IPL-2 had to be hosted from India to South Africa following security of players and in the wake of the Lok Sabha elections in India.


Music legend Eddy Grant will perform the chartbuster "Walking on Sunshine" and his fabulous song "Gimme Hope Jo'anna".

Bollywood glamour girl Shilpa Shetty will accompany Akon, who recently met President Jacob Zuma. Akon will perform Grammy award songs with leggy lass Shilpa Shetty.

South African President Zuma is also expected to attend the IPL final match and could also deliver a speech on the occasion.

On the occasion Miss Bollywood IPL South Africa finalists would also have the opportunity of winning the crown of the beauty competition.

The mega event will also see a presentation ceremony for the winning team.
