Johannesburg: The last year's ugly ducklings in IPL, Deccan Chargers and Royal Challengers Bangalore are all set to clash for the IPL 2009 Finals.

Over a month-long mega twenty20 event second edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) which saw a huge turn around in events comes to an end today.

Adam Gilchrist-led Deccan Chargers and Anil Kumble's Royal Challengers Bangalore will lock horns for the title here at New Wanderers in Johannesburg on May 24.

Deccan Chargers thrashed IPL 2009 top team Delhi Daredevils to enter the finals while Bangalore pipped last year's runner up Chennai Super Kings in the semifinals.

On paper, however, Deccan Chargers are hot favourite for the title but Royal Challengers have emerged as a strong contender in the tournament.

In form Adam Gilchrist will play a major role today for the Deccan Chargers while Bangalore have good combination of young and senior players.

Deccan Chargers have solid batting line up. Adam Gilchrist, HH Gibbs, Rohit Sharma, Andrew Symonds TS Suman, Dwane Smith are in good knick.

On the other hand, Royal Bangalore Chargers have proved that they have strong batting line up ably supported by young Indian players like Manish Pandey, Virat Kohli and Robin Uthappa.

Jaques Kallis, Rahul Dravid, Ross Taylor and Mark Boucher are senior and experienced campaigner for the team.

In the bowling department, RP Singh is the leading wicket taker in the tournament and Purple Cap holder. RJ Harris has supported RP very well in the pace department while Pragyan Ojha is leading the spin department with part-timer like Andrew Symonds, Venugopal Rao, TS Suman, and Rohit Sharma.

For Royal Bangalore Challengers, Jaques Kallis, Praveen Kumar and Vinay Kumar will spearhead the pace department while experienced leg-spinner Anil Kumble is leading the spin department.
