Chandigarh: The Haryana Medical Council (HMC) has removed two doctors from its list for five years after they were convicted under the Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act (PNDT).

The action against Naveen Thapar of Faridabad and M P Kamboj of Hissar has been taken as part of the drive to check female foeticide, an official spokesman said here today.

Thapar's name has been removed after Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Faridabad framed charges against him while Kamboj has been convicted by the court of CJM at Hissar under the PNDT Act.

The two doctors can not practice for five years unless they get some relief from a higher court, the spokesman said.
