Varanasi, Jan 16: An FIR has been lodged against a person for allegedly posing as the representative of a BSP MP and trying to get undue favours from an engineer by making a threat call to him.

Vinod, introducing himself as the representative of BSP MP from Azamgarh and the Branch Manager of a nationalised bank, allegedly made a threat call to BSNL Executive Engineer N P Singh on Monday, asking him to give contracts to a firm owned by his brother-in-law or face the consequences.

The accused also asked Singh to think of the gruesome killing of Auraiya PWD engineer M K Gupta and not to ignore the call.

An investigation was launched into the incident yesterday on the basis of the FIR lodged by the Engineer and efforts are on to arrest the accused, SSP Vijay Prakash said.
