Basti (UP): Four people were arrested with fake currency worth Rs 3.50 lakh by the Special Task Force today, police said here.

An STF team from Lucknow arrested the two from near the roadways bus station with Rs 2.20 lakh counterfeit notes and based on preliminary probe, two others with Rs 1.30 lakh fake currency were arrested following a raid in a house in Purani Basti, 200 kms from Lucknow.

A computer, scanner, fake revenue stamps and postal order along with other equipments used to print fake notes were also recovered from the house, police said.

Officials said that the notes were of Rs 500, 100 and 20 denominations and the accused persons used to circulate it in rural areas.

A case has been registered and further probe is underway.
