Muzaffarnagar: Irritated over failing to get his love, a man strangulated a woman with whom he had an affair before she was married to another man.

According to the sources, Saira Begum (25), who was married to one Gulzar six months ago, was killed by her former lover Sheful at Kairana town in the district yesterday, police said.

Police said Sheful, 26, strangled Saira to death after she refused to elope with him while visiting to her parents' home.

Police have arrested Sheful and case has been registered against him.
