Hyderabad: It was a moment of great pride and honour for the city when Deccan Chargers, the winners of second edition of Indian Premier League, arrived here on Wednesday night.

The fans gathered in large numbers on airport to receive their winning team but were disappointed a bit as only three players- Tirumalsetti Suman, Harmeet Singh and Shoaib Ahmad arrived at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

The fans was expecting to see Captain Adam Gilchrist, Andrew Symonds, Herchelle Gibbs, RP Singh and Rohit Sharma, who turned out to be match winners for the team yet they looked excited to welcome the trio.

According to the team management, the foreign players went back to their respective countries while RP Singh and Rohit Sharma went to Mumbai to join Indian Twenty20 squad for the upcoming World Cup.

The three members of the victorious team, who arrived here with the IPL Trophy and the winner's cheque, stood on a special vehicle for ‘Vijay Juloos' across the city as they reached a hotel.
