Chota Shakeel plotted to assassinate Varun Gandhi





New Delhi: In a shocking revelation, Intelligence Bureau sources said that they have foiled Chota Shakeel's plot to assassinate BJP leader Varun Gandhi.

According to the Intelligence reports, Karachi-based don Chota Shakeel ordered the killing of Varun Gandhi on March 28, when he was to surrender at the Pilibhit court.

Dawood aide Chota Shakeel assigned key shooter Rashid Malbari to eliminate Varun Gandhi. The IB alerted UP home department on the March 22, after the information was disclosed from the intercepts between Shakeel and Malbari. Calls to 3 SIM numbers were monitored between March15-21 which revealed the plan to IB.
UP government tightened Gandhi's security after the information.

To Varun Gandhi's luck and IB's vigilance, all plans were thwarted after Malbari was arrested in a joint operation by the IB and Karnataka's Department of Criminal Intelligence Bureau on March 27.

Malbari and three others - Sayaf T A, Mohammad Hasim and Sahib Ibrahim have confessed to the assassination plot. Two Colt pistols, several credit cards and 11 mobile phones were recovered from them.

According to the sources, the miscreants planned to kill Gandhi for his alleged hate speeches, in an effort to restore confidence in Indian Muslims and disturb Lok Sabha elections.
