King Khan's detention-a reality, not a publicity stuntAn unfortunate recent incident of detention of actor Shahrukh Khan at the Newark International airport in America on August 15 is very much in public glare, say it or relate it with racism. Shahrukh went as a chief guest to celebrate the Independence Day with the NRI's over there. According to Shahrukh, he was detained for two hours at the Newark airport, just for the clarifications as his name was Khan. Shahrukh khan doesn't need any recognition or any kind of identification trial. Yes, if we see from the security point of view then after going thorough checking and re-checking, he could have been asked to go. They could have checked his identity through official sources. There was no point of making him detained for two hours. Literally, thorough examination is an integral part of security check and everyone should respect it, be it VIP, VVIP or common man. Over the matter, Shahrukh said that he was detained because of his surname is 'Khan'. It is unfortunate that some people said that Shahrukh successfully used his detention incident as a publicity tool to promote his upcoming film My Name Is Khan'. Both the things can be easily interrelated. But Shahrukh is superstar and a global personality. His detention was merely a detention, and no a publicity stunt at all. I think a star like him needs not any publicity stunt. As far as "My Name Is Khan" is concerned, I feel that it will be a great hit.
